What Does the PTO Do?
The PTO assists with school communication so families can be aware of what is happening at Clive.
The PTO also raises funds to purchase items not paid for by the school or school district.
Student Activities
*funds projects and receptions associated with Project Based Learning
*financially supports field trips for all grade levels
*plans & sponsors Fall, Winter, and Friendship (Valentine’s Day) classroom parties
*assists with Back to School night
*sponsors professional author/artist visits
*plans and organizes Spirit Week, including Penny Wars
*financially supports and coaches Challenge of the Books
*supports Fun and Be Fit Day
*assists in funding the 6th Grade Celebration
*plans and facilitates end-of-year celebration, Summer Rocks
Teacher Support
*offers yearly startup funds to teachers
*funds indoor/outdoor recess games and toys
*serves meals for the staff on conference days
*organizes Administrative
Professionals’ and Nurse’s Day recognition
*organizes activities for Teacher Appreciation Week
*offers assistance to teachers for classroom resupply throughout
the year
Family/Community Involvement
*sends representatives to the School Community Network at district level
*helps with communications on CLA’s Facebook profile
*produces school yearbook and
facilitates sales
*manages the upkeep and cleaning of CLA’s landscaping and yards
*plans and organizes a fun family outing during the start of the second semester
*distributes Booster Packs
*actively contributes to playground enhancements and improvements
*offers school supply kits for purchase with no mark-up to families
*and much, much more!
